***Helpful Maintenance Info:
Everyone likes things there own ways but these are just some helpful hints to aid in your hunt with your snare both now, and over time.
One of the main benefits of using mono is that you can reshape your mono over time and use, or we can even replace it. If your mono loop changes shape after many catches, simply heat it up around something round (like a scuba tank) with a hair dryer and mold it back to shape, or bring it to us. You cannot do this with wire braid over time as easily. We offer wire braid as well if your prefer just please select it when you order. We also now have a thick commercial grade loop. Each loop has its pros and cons but allows you to choose what's right for you!
***When these snares are brand new and shipped the loop may change shape after shipping due to the loop sitting in the box/tube for a day or two. They will loosen up during the first use, or you can use a grease lubricant such as Star Brite Snap & Zipper Lubricant to smoothen the pull action up initially. An interesting option in FL is to leave your snare on a car dashboard for a few hours in the sun and this will aid in molding the loop therefore making the pull action very smooth from the get go.

Green snare, who?!
The Chiefy lobster snare is far more superior than the standard green snare. The smooth pull of the monofilament VS the cable wire is a very nice upgrade, as well as the lock on/lock off feature and ease of the orange thumb release. And bonus feature of a strong but lightweight aluminum design with a beautiful color combo makes it easy to spot underwater if lost. Proud Chiefy Snare owner!
The wire is too weak and will not stay in place but fold up rather than holding its form. So after writing a not great review, they reached out and offered to fix the problem. Outstanding customer service by Vinnie, i believe is the owner. Definitely recommend working with these guys.
Hello Thomas. Call us anytime. The beauty of our snare is you can change the loop. We offer three types of loops. Send it in or come by and try our options if no luck with your current setup. We will walk you through what's best for you based on how you prefer to lobster. Our two mono and one steel wire all have their specific uses. The wire is more for snorkeling and overhead catches. It is also more floppy on the site. The mono can be molded with heat and has more of a 90 degree loop. Call us anytime and we will make it right for you ~ Vinny
Lobster season is just around the corner and I cannot wait to get my new snare. I have seen it in action and I have no doubt it will be the best snare out there. I am excited about the aluminum construction (light and strong), the locking mechanism, the longer shaft and orange is one of my favorite colors. Is it mini-season yet?
